Committees

Activities- Plans and Executes Annual Events such as Golf Tournament, Picnic, and Christmas Gala.  Meets once per month.

Associates– Focuses on projects and developing programs to help serve the interest of  the Associate Members such as Table Top Expo and the Home Show. Meets as needed

Community Involvement- Responsible for Public Relations and facilitating group activities such as Top-A-Stop and Habitat for Humanity Builds.  Meets as needed

Education- Responsible for planning and implementing member education classes.  Work to provide quarterly education opportunities. Moderate time commitment

Legislative- Monitors issues involving the industry, and elections on the local, state, and national level.  Also works to raise funds for Build-Pac.  Meets Monthly

Marketing/PR– Responsible for researching & implementing marketing ideas and goals for the AHBA.  Works to update and improve current AHBA marketing initiatives. Meets on an as needed basis.

Membership/Retention– Staff run committee focusing on membership through recruitment & retention.  Utilizes AHBA volunteers to plan and execute the New Member Picnic & Membership Drives.  Meets as needed

Parade of Homes- Plans and produces the annual scattered-site Parade of Homes held in October.  Meets once monthly for the first six months of the year and then bi-monthly during the last 6 months of the year

Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council - The PWB Council is dedicated to promoting, enhancing and supporting women within the industry by actively:

  • Encouraging professional development
  • Promoting & supporting active involvement in the political & legislative process, on state & local levels
  • Providing scholarships through community involvement

Remodelers Council - The Remodelers Council is committed to providing citizens of the Asheville area with a list of reliable and responsible professionals who specialize in remodeling, provides our members with varied opportunities for education and the exchange of ideas, information and resources, and advocates professionalism, business and technical excellence and responsible government while representing the interests of the remodeling industry to regulatory, legislative, media, trade and consumer groups.
