(11.25.08) AHBA Member Auctions Item for Habitat on Behalf of AHBA
Josh Abrams, of AHBA member company moreSPACEplace, is holding an auction on EBAY beginning December 3rd and running through December 10th. This auction is to benefit the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. While attending the 2006 Warren Haynes Annual Christmas Jam, Josh collected autographs of the various artists playing at the concert on his Asheville Citizen-Times Take 5 issue. The issue has Warren Haynes on the front cover and has over 20 different signatures from the Jam musicians inlcuding George Porter, DJ Logic, Taylor Hicks, Taj Mahal, David Schools and Warren Haynes himself.
Habitat for Humanity is a charity that the Asheville Home Builders Association is proud to partner with. Many of our members have participated in the week-long Builder Blitz in which AHBA members donated labor and materials to the home of the Pascari family, located on Warren Haynes Road.
With the donation of the proceeds from the EBAY auction, our AHBA Nation member, Josh Abrams, has once again allowed the AHBA to give back to the community in the form of charitable donations. The AHBA will keep our members updated on the status of Josh’s sale.Thank you Josh for your kindness and generosity this holiday season!

(11.19.08) Battle of the Builders: Builders Battling Hunger!
The AHBA is excited to announce the annual “Battle of the Builders” member competition is back! Each year our Builder members compete in a charity drive with the intention to raise donations and awareness for a local charity. After realizing the growing urgency to care for the hungry in our area, we have decided to proclaim this year’s competition as “Builders Battling Hunger” with the proceeds benefiting Manna Food Bank. Our builder members are encouraged to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations over a 30 day period in order to create awareness for this worthwhile organization and to fight against hunger in our community.
The builder who collects the most cans will be crowned “Mr. HBA” during our Annual Christmas Gala on December 12, 2008!
You can support our builders by donating canned goods or monetary donations to the AHBA in a specific builder's name. Contact the AHBA today for more information!
